The Beat-the-Frost Comfort Check
Every January we get the same call at 2 am: no heat, house dropping a degree an hour, kids under every blanket in the house. Almost every time, the furnace gave a warning back in September. This is the visit that catches it.

What's in the visit
- The real furnace tune-up. Burners pulled and cleaned, heat exchanger inspected, gas pressure and temperature rise checked against the manufacturer's numbers, ignitor, inducer and every safety switch tested. Worth $139.
- Carbon monoxide safety check. Measured at the flue and in the living space, plus a test of your CO alarms. Worth $49.
- Water heater check. Venting, valves and condition, with a flush if it's due and safe to do. Worth $89.
- Indoor air quality snapshot. Filter check with a written card for the exact filter your system can handle, a humidity reading, and a filter card for your fridge. Worth $49.
- The One-Page Winter Report. What's fine, what's wearing, and what anything would cost IF you ever want it handled. Yours to keep either way.
Book by October 10. That is the average date of the first frost in Grand Rapids, and it is the reason for the deadline. Our maintenance season runs October 1 to November 30 on one calendar, so book early and you pick your day. Once the first hard freeze lands, every phone in West Michigan rings at once and the schedule goes to no-heat emergencies.
The No-Breakdown Promise
The fear that keeps people from booking tune-ups at all is that they do nothing. Here's our answer, in writing.
If the furnace we checked and passed quits on you this winter, the visit was free. You get your full $97 back, and we waive the $99 diagnostic fee when we come fix it. That's $196. You were buying a winter without surprises. If you didn't get one, you don't pay for it.
Fine print: covers a no-heat failure of something we inspected and passed. Anything we flagged in your report that you chose not to fix isn't covered. That keeps it fair in both directions.

If we ever find something unsafe
Rarely, we find a cracked heat exchanger or a carbon monoxide problem. Here's exactly what happens: we show you photos and readings, we check whether it's covered by the manufacturer's warranty before anything else, we tell you your options including a free second opinion from any company in town, the visit is free, and you decide. Nobody shuts off your heat without you.

Why is it priced higher than some tune-up specials?
Because it's four checks and a written report, not a ten-minute look. We're in your house 90 to 120 minutes, and you leave with a guarantee in writing: free if the furnace we passed still quits this winter.
What if my furnace is fine?
Then the report says so, and you've got a written record of it. Most reports say most things are fine. That's the point.
Does the $97 count toward anything?
Yes, two ways. If you replace your furnace, A/C or water heater with us within 12 months, the full $97 comes off the install. And if you join ComfortCare at your visit, the $97 comes off your first year instead.
Can I get one in the spring too?
Yes. The Beat-the-Heat Comfort Check runs in May with an A/C tune-up in place of the furnace. ComfortCare members get both every year automatically, plus a third visit for the water heater and air quality.
