Two Brothers. One Rule. Since 1994.
Customer Comfort is a family-owned, veteran-owned company in Sparta, run by KC and Jarred Pope and built on the rule our stepdad started with: treat every home like it's your own.

From Kevin's truck to today
Our stepdad, Kevin Wood, started Customer Comfort in 1994 with one truck and a reputation to build. He built it the slow way: tell people the truth about their equipment, do clean work, and never sell somebody something they don't need. Word got around, the way it does in small towns, and thirty years later a lot of our customers are the kids of his customers.
In 2023 Kevin officially handed the company to the two of us, his stepsons KC and Jarred Pope. He's retired now, but he's still around, and he still asks how the jobs went. The name on the trucks hasn't changed and neither has the rule. The crew has grown since then, and every person on it was hired for character first. That's how you build a company that feels like family, because it is one.
We only do heating, cooling, water heaters and indoor air. No plumbing, no electrical, no "we do it all." Doing four things well beats doing ten things fine.

Clean installs. Honest recommendations.
No surprises
Up-front pricing in writing before any work starts. If something's wearing out, it goes in the report with the facts, and you decide at your own kitchen table.
No shortcuts
The tune-up takes an hour because that's how long the checklist takes. The install is sealed, strapped and swept because that's how we'd want it in our own basement.
No excuses
We show up when we said, do what we quoted, and stand behind it. If we get something wrong, we make it right, and KC will call you himself.
Who's coming to your house
We hire for character and train for skill, and the crew treats each other like family. Everyone here is licensed, insured and background-checked, and you'll get a text with a name and a photo before anyone knocks.

KC Pope
Runs the office, the phones and the numbers. The voice behind the Facebook posts. Will call you himself if anything goes sideways.

Jarred Pope
Handles every warranty call and keeps the manufacturers honest. If something's covered, Jarred finds out before anyone quotes a replacement.

John
Runs the Comfort Checks, repairs and tune-ups. Known for the flashlight, the photos, and telling you "that's fine" when it's fine.

Monnesha
Measures the house and builds your options when you ask for a replacement estimate. Three choices, plain English, monthly payment on each.
What our neighbors say
We ask every customer for a Google review, not just the happy ones. Read them all at the link below.
"Customer Comfort Heating and Cooling provided excellent service in our furnace and AC replacement journey. KC and Jarred are polite and professional to a level I don't often see in modern companies. The quality of work is unmatched and after having several companies come out to provide a quote they were the only company to identify key issues that prevented us from maximizing the effectiveness of our system. If you are searching for good people who run a good business that focuses on quality then look no further."Shawn O.Furnace and A/C replacement · Google review
"KC was great to work with in getting a new AC unit. He was very prompt in returning phone calls and quickly scheduled the installation in very hot weather. Highly recommend Customer Comfort!"Valerie D.A/C installation · Google review
"We had a mini split put in our garage. KC was quick in responding and scheduling. Very professional. Explained things and answered our questions. I got other quotes and their quote was the best with the best product. Other companies gave me a quote without the electrical. Comfort heating quote included the electrical. I would recommend them."Gayle W.Mini split installation · Google review
Want to work here?
We're a family company and we're picky about who joins it. If you're a tech or an installer who'd rather do the job right than do it fast, we'd like to talk. Character first; we'll train the rest.
